Once i woke up in the morning, in my bed, in my apartment above a snackbar, to find a cockroach next to my face, on the pillow. I made plans to move out, that same morning. But first, i killed the cockroach. 🪳
I love your writing so much, Tosh. So glad to hear that the chances have vastly improved that it won’t be leaving us anytime soon ; ) - Becky Ebenkamp, whom you may know better as Domenic Priore’s girlfriend. Let us know if and when you are up for visitors!
Becky! So nice to hear from you. I'm not leaving because I'm grabbing the couch, TV set, and turntable, so it will be hard to drag me off. After my next stay at the hospital, which should be finished by the middle of May, it will be nice to see you and Domenic.
I'm not sure why, but this: "I’m an easy fan of this almost non-existent narration," reminded me of Peter Suskind's 1985 book Perfume. Maybe because it deals with the social alienation and underground world of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, born with an incredible sense of smell but no bodily scent of his own.
I’m with you, I’d also kill a cockroach. One small step at a time in the healing process, with an interesting book to read is an excellent plan for recovery. Keep going my friend.

You have a gift for words my friend and I am glad your physical limitations have not dampened your mental acuity.
You're the best. I read those Camus journals when I was 20. One of my early heroes.

I hope it’s a short stay this time.
Five days.

That cockroach is going to get what’s coming, just wait!
Your poetry is the best, Tosh.
You WILL do it Tosh.
I would kill a cockroach too.
