A blissful seven minutes or so of Television on the show Live on Jools Holland performing 1880 or So. The guitar chit-chat between Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd is a conversation to treasure for years ahead.
Daniel Riccuito on the great Curtis Harrington film Night Tide. He covers the waterfront with the essence of Harrington, Hopper, and the magnificent Linda Lawson, Cameron, and the inner-world culture of that landscape. Read his essay here, with beautiful images as well. "Death in Venice, California" by Daniel Riccuito
I’m right in the middle of reading this major biography on the poet Max Jacob by Rosanna Warren. The wonderful publishing house Wakefield Press published two Jacobs very recently: The Central Library and the legendary The Dice Cup. Jacob was right in the storm that was Picasso, and his period and time are so iconic that it is why people like me visit Paris. The biography is detailed information, and Warren has a firm grasp on the world of Max Jacob. As I write this, I’m still reading the book. For the two titles by Jacobs, I mention you can purchase them at your favorite independent bookstore or here: DAP/Artbook Max Jacobs
YouTube does have Michael Snow’s film masterpiece Wavelength, but I recommend seeing it in a theater if possible, and as I say that, more likely, not likely. But you know, sometimes art is not always accessible. Or easy to get or understand. Nevertheless, here’s an excellent introduction to the great and late Michael Snow.

Harrington originally wanted to cast Peter Lorre in the role played by Gavin Muir but Lorre was unavailable. There's also a reference to Tourneur's Cat People when Cameron speaks to Linda Lawson in Greek during their encounter in the Blue Grotto (in Cat People Elizabeth Russell speaks to Simone Simon in Serbian at the engagement party in the Village restaurant.)
