It's a film that really sticks to my brain. That whole generation of British actors are/were so brilliant. As an American, that British world is so foreign to my thinking. It's incredible to share a language and being able to drop into this world. I have a strong connection to the British aesthetic. I love its greatness and otherwise. One needs the darkness to appreciate the light. I'm going to check out the other Mike Leigh films.

I'm working on being the Fred Astaire of writing. Not an easy practice. But I will do my best.

Saw this film last week and I loved it.
