I like this bit of writing. It is reflective, honest and took some courage in writing. I share your sense of dismay when it comes to what is happening in Israel. I wish I understood more about the history but I don't. I only wish children were not dying, and that the killing would stop. When I was an undergraduate I saw a Nazi Lamp shade in the secure office of a medical pathologist and was so shocked, and astounded by it, I wrote a short essay and poem about it, to try to come to terms with what I had seen. Sometimes, art is all we have to make sense of the savagery of this world. In that sense, I totally understand what you mean and am completely on board... thank you for sharing this.
