Of course we all remember the demise of Ferdinand and Imelda and now the son becoming president of the Philippines, I couldn't help while watching the news, admire his shirt.

Thanks for the history of that design.

This is just so great. And perfect that you wore the suit to his home in Nice. I love reading your blogs. I am also reading, more like inhaling, your memoir which has me laughing out loud on many occasions followed by intense fascination. My father and yours would have been friends. Same era, same kind of vibe, except where your Pop was an artist, mine was a well known scientist - a student of Wilhelm Reich's. I grew up with his "cloudbuster" Silverhorse, which was like a functional work of art. And it did indeed make it rain. We also had a similar scene at our farm in Bucks County Pennsylvania. I remember many interesting luminaries visiting in the 70's interested in my father's work. And as a kid I listened to their conversations from my bedroom upstairs while they played poker and drank and talked right below me. When I read your book I feel like I'm reading about a cousin on the West Coast. My family eventually moved to Marin in 1989 and I spent many years in Inverness, Sausalito and San Francisco. Thanks for all the great writing, I'm an avid fan. Rebecca
