Tosh!!! Thank you for this. OMGeee. This album is a secret that has infected me for decades. "Something in the Air" -- so strange that, 1. It is a romantic love song to street-fighting revolution (w sickly sweet strings), and 2. That it was a worldwide hit that still gets played on oldies formats. "Accidents" is a masterpiece of collage and concept. "Life is just a game, you fly your paper plane, there is no air." Is that how that fade out/refrain goes? I'm writing from memory. I'm convinced this song influenced XTC's equally existential "Complicated Game" from their Drums and Wires album. Also so strange how TN intersected w 2 rock gods -- Townshend and McCartney -- but remained relatively obscure... xoxoxo

The sweetness of “Something in the Air” is due to the melody and Speedy Keen’s vocals, yet it’s about having a violent revolution. Also, if you can, listen to both versions of “Accidents.” The extended version is on the album, and then there is single edit or re-recording of that song. Both are equally remarkable and worth having.
