I read the whole thing in college... and now I can say, without shame, that I was just too young and distracted to appreciate it. But, like many, I KNOW that I will return to it. Thank you for this, Tosh!
When I read about Proust, the number one commentary is that one has to be older to appreciate Proust. For me, this is true, but I don't know if that is true for everyone. I have read "Swann's Way" at least thrice, and it was hard for me to get through it. But now that I'm in my 60s, it's like, "I got it now." But is this true?
